Immaculate and brilliant room, with an electric kettle, central heating and an iron. The staff was welcoming and polite and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Brilliant location not far from the restaurant as well as sea front, only 5 minutes walk from Cars.

The location was magnificent and wonderful, just off the fish, the pier, and high street. Spent our evenings in nearby Moon & Starfish, especially when it was really hot outside. Esplanade Hotel in Clacton-on-Sea has a fantastic location right by the beach, pier, and high street. Guests can enjoy spending evenings at the nearby Moon & Starfish, especially on warm nights.

Lady on arrival was very helpful and provided coffee & tea while we waited for our rooms to be ready.
Owner/manager was arguing with his wife in the bar about what she had or had not done properly. He then proceeded to tell a couple of guests all about the problem with the way his wife helped out in the hotel. Not very professional. On our way to breakfast in the morning he blocked the corridor with a vacuum cleaner. As the breakfast is only one hour this could have been done before or after breakfast.

The food was of quality and I enjoyed both evening meal and breakfast. The hotel was nice and quiet.
The cleanliness of my room was poor. Parking very limited you have to park three deep and leave your car keys with the owner of hotel so he may move it. This I found unsuitable as when he did move my car he left the hand break off and in gear. Not sure how insurance would be affected. There was a smell of bad drains in my small shower room. I will admit only a slight smell but never the less not pleasant.

The room was double superior and large when upgraded with good linen, sea view, for example. Marvellous central location really close to amusement park, the restaurant which once again has brilliant sea views and Clacton-on-Sea. - It felt like home.

Friendly staff and great location on seafront. Within walking distance to pier. Family room was very well set up with partition wall separating two single beds for kids from main area whilst remaining within the same room. Excellent design as adults could stay up after kids fell asleep.
No complaints whatsoever
